Description
The project
Uthan Design Studio transformed Mr. Palash’s residence into an airy, contemporary haven that harmonizes natural textures with sleek modernity. Designed with an expansive open-plan layout, the living area is anchored by a dramatic bookmatched grey marble feature wall, offset by warm vertical timber slats, a floating console, and a plush slate-blue sectional. Polished white marble floors reflect daylight pouring through floor-to-ceiling windows, while sculptural brass lighting adds artistic dimension.
The transition into the dining and dry kitchen areas is seamless. A dedicated dining zone showcases an organic, backlit asymmetrical mirror set against fluted wood paneling, framed by an overhead linear timber ceiling that visually extends the space. Across from the dining table, bespoke high-gloss storage and illuminated smoked-glass vitrines keep the layout clutter-free. The space culminates in an ergonomic breakfast bar featuring ribbed woodwork and floating open shelves, delivering refined, functional living.

What makes it particular
Material Contrast (Cold Stone vs. Warm Timber): A striking balance between the monumental, bookmatched grey marble TV accent wall and tactile, warm timber fluting used across walls, ceilings, and the breakfast island.
Continuous Architectural Ceiling Battens: Instead of conventional drop ceilings, linear wood slats flow above the dining and kitchen areas, integrating recessed tracks that establish zones without walls.
Sculptural Fluidity in a Geometric Space: The organic, pebble-shaped backlit accent mirror and interlocking halo chandelier break the sharp architectural grid, softening the overall visual atmosphere.
Concealed High-Capacity Millwork: Clean, handleless white cabinetry paired with integrated smoked-glass display units and a fluted breakfast bar offer immense storage while maintaining an open, uncluttered profile.
